Oil Palm Series: Handbooks and Pocket Guides for Nursery, Immature and Mature

World demand for vegetable oils has been increasing, and over the last 40 years, the area planted to oil palm in Malaysia, Indonesia and the Pacific region has increased substantially from 145,000 ha to 5,000,000 ha.

This set of oil palm management handbooks and pocket guides were produced to help plantations increase the harvests by introducing proper management practices that are also environmentally sound. The English versions of these books, produced and published by IPNI Southeast Asia Program in cooperation with Agrisoft Systems, Indonesia has sold more than 5,000 copies since 1999.

The Field Handbooks are designed for field management use, and cover all operations at each stage of oil palm growth. Each section presents the objective, standards required, equipment, materials, procedure, frequency, timing, task, records and other notes to assist line managers. The Field Handbooks are printed on waterproof paper in an easy-to-read format and contain all the essential information to achieve high standards of oil palm management. >more
